2025 was our first year and was driven by the desire to mobilize many volunteers to serve in multiple locations to as to make our community a better place to live.

We got the idea from www.loveourcities.org from a book by that title and their ongoing work in Modesto, CA .  Their effort has support from all sectors of the city.  Since then, many cities have adopted the model and have seen significant relationships emerge.

We are a small group of friends who are driven by the common faith to love God and to love others.  We formed Love Ithaca following the model from Love our Cities.  We share the common vision to see our community flourish!

The major expenses are with tee-shirts and marketing, along with providing some food at the beginning of the volunteer day.  We are hoping to find business sponsors to assist.

We connected with various nonprofits and asked how we could support and which projects could be family friendly and which ones would demand special skills.  We aren’t starting anything but coming alongside to help what others are doing.
